I live in Colorado and can certainly sympathize with the sentiment. However I won't just blame it on the tourists I will also include all the people who have moved here over the last ten years or even longer (I should not even use the word blame as it is not their fault). It has nothing to do with money or tourist dollars. It has to do with too darn many people and the effect it has on the reason so many people come here whether to live or visit. You want to go skiing plan on a 2 hour ride up and 3 -5 hour ride back due to traffic. Used to be 75-90 minutes both ways. Camping within 100 miles of Denver you better take a serious look at reservations months in advance or take the real risk of not finding a reasonable spot if at all. Many of the trails we hike lakes and streams we fish are now very crowded. Many times you can't hardly get parking at a trailhead. The amount of trash has increased significantly. So what do you do you go farther or deeper into the wilderness only to have the same start happening there. what draws people here is what's hurting it. It is certainly not unique to here though.
