I agree completely with the front range statement above!
I work at one of the lakes in South Park. On the weekends there are so many folks who come up from the front range that traffic on 24 is ridiculous and the campgrounds are booked full. The "regulars" won't even come out on the weekends.
However, I talk with the folks who work in the stores along the way and always ask how is business. They (the owners) are tickled pink and I don't blame them.
The out of staters are usually up during the week and I enjoy talking with them. I did tell the Cali folks (jokingly of course) to enjoy their visit but don't even think of moving up here. The Texans I love to tease as I had the misfortune of having to live there for a few years.
So, no, the Denver Post does not speak for me. As for hunters/fisherman? I know a number of towns that the local retailers rely on those out of state dollars to survive from year to year.
