I'll throw out one more out of the way and little used State Park Stagecoach Just south of Steamboat, on a lake and near a couple of small towns so you can get provisions, only 45 minutes to Steamboat if you need a night out and a really good meal.
I have never made a reservation but it looks like you might be able to get a site, weekends are a little crowded.
Just a thought if Lake City Didn't work out.
