Blue Spruce RV Park at Vallecito Lake is one of our favorite places. It is not far to Durango and all sites are shaded (heavily treed Forrest setting) and big. No one is on top of anyone and it is very remote & quiet. Another place we like is Bruce Spruce RV Park at the base of Wolf Creek Pass in Pagosa Springs. It is a small campground (mostly retirees who spend the entire summer there) but most sites seem spacious. Some sites are in the trees and some have awesome mountain views. We have gone to both of these places many times & love them both. We will be going to Colorado in May this year & were looking for a different area to try. We were recommended to try Priest Gulch Campground in Dolores so we booked that. Since we will be going before many campgrounds open for the season in Colorado, our choices were limited but I am excited to be going again.
