- DennisVRExplorerSorry I have nothing to offer, but I will be watching because I plan on being there after Christmas if the weather is good.
- CC_CrabmanExplorer1. Padre Island National Seashore for the beach
2. Fish in the Laguna Madre (hire a guide)
3. Birdwatching in Port Aransas and lots of other places
4. Visit the Texas State Aquarium
5. Tour World War II Aircraft Carrier "Lexington"
6. Enjoy the many Mexican restaurants in the area
Let me know if you have any special requests. That CC in my name is for Corpus Christi. - dewey02Explorer IIFortunately, most spring break vacations will be over by the end of March.
Must sees?
Corpus Christi and Port Aransas are like night and day differences.
Big city vs laid back seashore.
Corpus Christi- USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier, Aquarium (we just spent a day in Corpus Christi, so these are the two things we did.)
Port Aransas - just lay back and relax. Visit the many bird sanctuaries, read a book on the beach, travel to Padre Island National Seashore. Port Aransas is really just a little town. Lots of interesting little places to eat and shop, most of them local and not chains.
I'm sure that regular travelers to the area can give you much more. But we were just winter-weary Northern Minnesotans who desperately wanted warmth in late February/early March and we just wanted to relax. So we went mostly to take it easy and have the ice melt off of our bodies! :) Enjoy - it is a great place. - Dick_BExplorerDo a Google search for `______ tourism' and put the city or area in the blank space and read what the specialists recommend.
- Roy_LynneExplorerRight now, I would go elsewhere, They had a horrible toxic spill of something that got into their water and while some areas are fine, other areas you can't even bathe in the water.

I believe by March they will have the situation cleared up. The potable water contamination is limited to the city of Corpus Christi and now only the center of the city, not the outer edges according to news reports. Port Aransas is not effected at all, I would think, nor the aquarium and the Lexington. Certainly not Padre Island. - Brent_and_GinaExplorerWe have reservations on Port Aransas. I sure appreciate the suggestions! Please keep 'em coming if you have a mind to.
- timandsusanExplorerFor seafood in Port Aransas--Beach & Street Grill has always been great. Other suggestions for birding, fishing, etc. by others are great.

I will suggest Moby Dick's as a fun place to eat.
It looks very touristy/cheesy from the outside, but we gave it a shot.
The food was pretty good - my wife ate crawdads for the first time in her life!
But the atmosphere and entertainment were a hoot!
They had a Karaoke night, and several senior citizens got up to sing (one at a time). And some of them were professional-quality singers. We were treated to Elvis, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin songs. We loved it! - craigandsueExplorerVenetian Hot Plate, Trout Street Grill, Virginia's on the Bay, Crazy Cajun are some of our favorite places to eat in Port A. There are more.
Snoopy's has the best fried shrimp right off the causeway coming on to the island from Corpus Christi.
