We are considering going to the Corpus Christi/Rockport area next February. My wife is somewhat "concerned" about whether or not the area is "safe" or not.Any comments??? I thought you snowbirds would have the inside info on the question. :)

Corpus is no different than any other medium size city. Some bad areas, some good areas. Motels along I37 entering the city are particularly theft prone (car break ins). Rockport area has no particular problems. If you have PX privileges there's the Naval Air Station on the south end of Ocean Drive in Corpus. I lived there 3 years without any special concerns.

Like previous poster indicated, Corpus is like any other city its size. I'd be more concerned about Feb weather. A little too cold for my taste.

Oh by the way, we now stay in Rockport 2004, 10, 11, 12 and again this year. Nothing wrong with either place. Rockport is more laid back and a lot more RV parks but a lot less people somewhere around 9,000 vs the 300,000 plus over in Corpus

I was considering visiting Ballwin, Missouri, but concerned that some areas may not be safe. I already know that lots of St. Louis is not safe, and I wonder if that crime has spilled over to Ballwin.

Spent 2005 and again 2009 in Flour Bluff which is at the south end of Corpus Christi and we never had any muggings, murder, rape, robbery or thefts that I am aware of in the RV park we stayed in off of Waldron Drive. Did have a couple of people die due to old age.

Ok, there are statistics on that, but the farther you can be from any populated area the safer you are.
