Yep, the "Big Tree" one of the largest live oaks in the United States is a few miles from Goose Island State Park, is protected by the State of Texas, and is a must see item if you go there.
Be warned, however, at certain times of the year the mosquitoes can be very bad to the point of "overwhelming" at Goose Island State Park.
