Country Acres Campground, Gordonville/Lancaster, PA

Question

We have been staying at a different campground in Lancaster for a number of years and we are thinking of trying Country Acres Campground in Gordonville, PA. The reviews are for the most part good. I see on their map that there are "traffic" gates on the in and out lanes of the campground in front of the office. Does one need a key card to go in and out of the campground? Or do these raise automatically to just slow the flow of traffic in and out?

We often travel at night and arrive after hours with a site reserved. We also will go out for the day and not return until after hours with our Class B.

You'd be best to call them to find out, especially if you'll be arriving late. Some are pass key some are a key pad. You might be able to man arrangements to get through the gate even if it requires a pass key.

I was going to say make sure you get to Sight And Sound, but if you've been to the area several times you probably already know that.

THere are newer sites that are not controlled by the automated gate located to the right of the office in front of the pool. See if you can reserve one of those sites.

Like you, we have visited at least 5 different campgrounds in Lancaster over the past 10 years. Every year we make one or two visits.

Just last weekend we made our first visit to Country Acres for a 3 night stay. Our site was in the newer section and there were not gates. The older section does have gates.

I would suggest when making your reservation you discuss your travel/arrival plans. Their check-in time is 2:30 PM, but they will allow early check-in if your site is empty.

We were pleased with our visit and will return.
