I am located in central rural VA. Maybe 180 cases total since March. I think it has more to do with urban vs rural. NOVA, RIC, and VA Beach have the highest population densities hence the highest rates. We have no intention of traveling there and are satisfied here in the boonies.
FWIW we did travel cross country in June to see our DD and SIL in Denver metro. We camped at Chatfield SP, and closest we got to Denver was Littleton. We visited many rural locations in CO and came home no problems. Too many stories have we heard of contagion for folks that packed into Myrtle Beach and Pigeon Forge.
We have a beach camping trip planned but not until September and hopefully then all the families will be back at home and density much lower. We will mainly stay to ourselves at the campground on the beach anyway.
