We stayed at Newburgh NY KOA. Very nice park. You can either drive a few miles to Beacon NY and take the train into NYC, or the park has a tour bus that leaves directly from the park. Pricey but well worth it. We were gone 12 hours. From their website: Dog Walking Service (available with donation to KOA Care Camps)
