CT Help

Evening All,

Can any Connecticut folks give me a lead on a full-hookup Campground as close to Bridgeport as possible? I have a sick family member I may need to be close to in Bridgeport. I want full hook up because when I get back to my camper After what will be a stressful time I am going to want an unencumbered hot shower, hot meal and cold beverage.

Thanks in advance.

  • We found the owner/ staff at Branch Brook easy to work with. We stayed there for two months (mid-Apr to mid-JUne in 2015 while volunteering with the COE at Thomaston. Nice CG and a nice twown Easy access to the freeway for. You should find it a good place to stay.
  • Thanks all, I did make reservations at Branch Brook for a week from now. It will put me a lot closer to my sister. I really appreciate the help.

  • Yea there’s really nothing for trailer camping in the area
  • Thanks for the leads, all. They will be very helpful.

I was raised in southern CT but since we didn’t RV? I had no idea how few campgrounds there are in the area although, it makes sense for a number of reasons.

    Thanks again.

Try Branchbrook Campground in Thomaston....it is right off Route 8 ,which gives you a direct shot into Bridgeport with less traffic than I -95...C

It is a little tough to find a campground close to Bridgeport. Riverdale campground in Clinton, CT might be a little closer, and it is not far off I95. Nicely maintained campground, can be a bit of a "party" campground on holiday weekends, but everyone is really nice and welcoming.

Just a note - you may stumble on Totoket "campground" in North Branford while searching... this is really a mobile home park with some parking lot spots for campers. Gets okay marks for an overnight campground while traveling.

The Moodus / Haddam area (where Grandview is) is a beautiful area.
  • Grandview camp resort in moodus. The down side would be about 1hr travel, one way. Not because of distance but because of I95/metro traffic.

Scenic campground & area to unwind.

Sorry to hear about your family situation.

    Mike
