Death Valley is a huge park. Get out and see as much of it as you can. Its dark corners hold many secrets. I have done some short overnight hiking trips. They are short because it is often a requirement to haul a lot of water. Even a mile off the road can be remote if you are not on a marked trail. The vast majority of the use in DV is on all the obvious locations. For some people the desert is intimidating. You can use that to your advantage.
