If you are planning on spending time visiting the beach and boardwalks, Delaware Seashore State Park is your best bet. Full hookups, miles of beach, access to more hiking trails, and a MUCH shorter commute to the local beach towns. Masseys is nice,and a Resort CG with all the bells and whistles, about 2 miles from the ocean as the crow flies with great water front sites if you can get one, but a long drive to the ocean beach by car. It would be a good hour+ drive to get to any of the ocean beaches during July. I ought to know. I have lived in the area for over 31 years. Traffic can be brutal. Sites may already be booked. Another option if the other places are booked is Homestead Campground. 302-684-4278 Located about 8 miles west of Lewes. Nice place with full hookups. Beach traffic can still be a pain though. Hi folks, long time no see. I think it was at Trap pond last time. I will be going to Cape Henlopen in the fall. I am looking forward to having electric on site as I am getting to be an old fart. I have seen some photos and it looks great. Delaware does have great State Park CG's. Delaware Seashore did a great job on the north side. I stay there often during the winter. Safe travels...
