Although not a resort, Gulf Shores S.P. in Alabama has lots to do - close to beach, large swimming pool, tennis courts, miles of bike trails, etc. Many restaurants close by that you could ride bikes to. Some sites are quite large and private.
We have only stayed there once and really enjoyed it and the area.
