Some of it may have to do with cost of living. More and more retired Americans are moving to Mexico. Their pensions just don't cut it anymore.
We visit snowbird parks in the RVG although we are not full retired yet. Many of the famous parks are losing their luster with time not to mention the pricing structures have changed. They run the extreme.
We like the potlucks but the rest of the stuff is passe. We look for parks that have gyms, heated pools with jacuzzi that are open after 9 p.m., close to nature parks, and a place where we can ride bikes. We don't make noise or play music but no one seems to want to be outside.
The last park we were in last year was so quiet you could here a bird break wind at 100 ft. It was truly dull. We really don't look for the park to entertain us.
