I'm glad to hear that you guys are having a good financially sound retirement. If you haven't read it, a companion book to "The millionaire next door" is "The wealthy barber." You may want to pass that one down also.
Nothing says you can't balance on a one legged stool, it just takes a lot of talent that many may not have. My FIL&MIL lived only on basic SS, and also had a place in Florida for the winters. He lived mostly by his wits, and did fairly well.
