Did it happen?

Six weeks ago, I took note of the large number of vacancies at my park in Central RGV(Rio Grande Valley of Texas). People said, "Just wait until after the election". Others said "Wait until after Thanksgiving". Some thought the big rush would happen after December 1. None of these things materialized. We still have about fifty percent of our RV sites available. The park models and mobile homes are a little fuller than that.

Will the forecasted highs in the forties this week bring the crowd or is everyone waiting on Christmas? Inauguration? Valentine's Day? How is your park doing?

This nails it for our park, the Canadians are fewer and fewer every year. Also, many Americans are joing that crowd for the same reason. I know this will be our last snowbird season.

  • Believe it or not, some of us actually don't mind winter. I like to go out on the lakes or race tracks and watch snowmobile and car races.

I have a couple friends close to 70 years old that spend winters at there cabins in Wyoming because there is a lot more snow than here in Minnesota and they love to ride snowmobile.
  • a lot of us older rv,ers are not traveling like we used to ,you,ve most likely seen the slow down over the years, the younger generation fly,s back and forth.the baby boomers have gotten old, I used to drive every year ohio to AZ now I fly.
