Dinosaur National Park

We are going to be camped out in Vernal Utah for a few days. We are planning to visit Dinosaur NP. Besides the dig site, I'm looking for some suggestions of scenic roads or other sites that are acessable with my 26ft Class C. As always suggestions are appreciated.

Google them, Echo Park is and I'm fairly sure McKonkie is.
  • I pushed the wrong button. Been driving all day!!!! This is a great list thanks.

  • 1) UT McConkie Ranch Petroglyphs
    2) UT Moonshine arch TH
    3) Dinosaur Tracks
    4) Little Brush Creek Cave

And there is a good road that runs, I think, east of DNM, to the river passing an interesting cave and ending on the river with a good walk along the river and some interesting views along it. For what ever reason I don't have it on my list but maybe it's that little brush creek cave.
DNP have been re-done and you have to park and take the shuttle now to the field house. There used to be some other roads thru the NM but I don't know what their status is now.

Here it is: Echo park whicpering cave

Oh and Flamming Gorge is great but a ways off of DNM, we boondocked there 4 days last year. Do the geology drive at the south end if you go.
  • Nothing scenic unless, you go up and over the hill to Flaming Gorge area. There are different ways to get to Dinosaur from Vernal. Jones Hole scenic goes to Dinosaur the back way from Vernal.
  • Research the Flaming Gorge area, there are things that might be of interest to you. I haven't been there in years so I won't comment on the roads.
