Head east on I-295 -- save going thru town which is busy sometimes, but also some odd interchanges and crossovers ... I-295 is not much longer, and a lot easier and straight drive. Pick up I-95 again south of the city and clear sailing from then on.
IF you want a nice campground just before Jacksonville, right outside Kingsland, GA just before you cross the line into Florida, Crooked River State Park -- with W/E sites. Nice park ...
There's also a very large visitors center just past the Florida line too, for a break if you need it. The 1-295 exit is right past the airport turnoff, and it exits to the right BEFORE the overpass then curves up and over I-95 and heads east, then south -- odd looking exit, so take care and don't miss it.
If you take I-295 west direction, it's longer and much busier -- but either one works.
