Do you get Phoenix locals on Directv if you use a Phoenix area Zip code??? Chris

Direct TV broadcasts in SD and HD for the Phoenix locales. So the satellite antenna will not matter.
The spot beam map for Phoenix, shows you can get it all the way to San Diego.
The spot beam map shows significant reduction in signal strength for SD. I'll be in Oceanside just north of SD in two weeks and will see my full array dish picks up the Phoenix locals.
