Disabled Veterans Free Camping

Do any other States besides Washington State, provide Free camping in their State Parks?

Washington also provides Camping at 1/2 price for those with Handicap
Parking Permits. Because of my Co-pilot we enjoy this Perk!

Our Camping Buds get the Free Space due to his Hearing Loss from a Service Connected disability.
  • Illinois state parks offer free camping to Illinois veterans with a 100% disability as determined by the USVA and the IDVA.

The camping is free but you still have to pay for hookups if any.
  • Not aware of simply free, but with a disability many offer significant discounts.

100% Service-connected Vet here ... 1/2 off camping with Access pass (National/Federal), and free admissions for myself and up to 4 guest to major attractions.

Access Pass is free with documentation of permanent disability, no percentage, merely permanent.

I try to look for Federal parks and recreation areas specifically for this reason. Army Corps of Engineers managed waterways and recreation areas have been some of my favorites.

Also, I know NM is very generous too (for its residents, anyway) with discounts and free admissions to state recreation areas for disabled vets.
  • I think most of those benefits are limited to residents of a particular state.
