Very true about the gravel - we were just there and they were redoing lots of the sites with the crummy little pea gravel
That gravel is one of the things I didn't like about Grayton (the new loop)...At least at topsail you will still have some shade unlike Grayton and Henderson (also has that gravel). I don't mind gravel to park on, but I prefer it packed down and that the whole site is not gravel.
