Disney world camping

We are bringing the family to Disney world during spring break in March the only camping loops available are 16,17,18,19 does anyone know what loop would be best? Or even a site in those loops? Any advice about this trip would be helpful.. There's so much conflicting information out there I'd like to get information from folks that have stayed there.

The restaurant at Fort Wilderness is good. Last time we were there was October 2011. They have a chicken takeout dinner that is excellent, and a lot of food. Great for bringing back to the campsite.

Hoop-de-do-review, at Fort Wilderness, is definitely worth getting reservations for! It is a lot of fun.

The carriage ride at the campground is surprisingly good, especially in the evening. I know the "haunted" carriage ride in October is fun for kids, I don't know about other times of the year. A little expensive, but everything is.

As posted earlier, feel free to keep asking questions!

Not sure what conflicting information you're getting, but all of those loops (1600-1900) are fine. As noted, they are all full hook-up and pet-friendly. We've stayed at Fort Wilderness dozens of times going all the way back to the 1980s (including twice last year) (and we're headed there twice in 2017, once by ourselves in February and once with the grandkids in April) and we've never had a bad site. The loops you mention are at the far end of the park, but the shuttle bus system is excellent, or you can bring bikes (which is a ton of fun--all of out kids rode their bikes everywhere), or bring a golf cart, or rent a golf cart (expensive).

If there's something in particular where you're trying to resolve a conflict, let us know. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry--you'll have a great time.

  • I'm guessing you mean 1600,1700,1800 and 1900 loops. They do not guarantee sites but you can request a certain loop. Spring break is a very popular time of year for the Fort so you might have to get what you can depending on what type of RV you have. All four loops are full hook up sites and are pet loops.
