Manzanita is fine. When you get to the coast via 299 I would recommend mad river rapids RV park for a stop over for your day trip south. To the north, yes, Prairie Creek is our fave. Space 33 is a small drive thru along the creek. Jedediah smith state park is also a nice stop heading north.
