Dorian & Myrtle Beach SP

We have/had plans to stay at Myrtle Beach SP near the end of September but wonder what impact Dorian has had on the state park and the area in general. How the state park is fairing and what if anything we should be aware of. We don't require much, just 30 amp and a level site.
Sure hope this disaster didn't affect all the folks there much.
  • From their web page: Day use area is open. Cabins and RV area are closed for clean up. Pier is closed through the end of Sept. Pier store is open.
  • I’d give em a call when it gets close to your go/no go decision point. It’s one thing if they incurred just wind damage. Another if they got salt water storm surge into the park’s electrical system.
  • I am not a fan of MBSP. Huntington Beach state park just several miles down the road much nicer.
  • From SC State Parks web page:
    \TRAVEL ADVISORY
Due to mandatory evacuations issued by Governor Henry McMaster, the following parks are CLOSED, and will remain closed until further notice: Myrtle Beach State Park, Huntington Beach State Park, Hampton Plantation SHS, Charles Towne Landing SHS, Colonial Dorchester SHS, Edisto Beach State Park and Hunting Island State Park. All other parks are open and operating.
