Durango/Silverton Train
Are reservations really necessary? Going mid Sept. and not sure what date we'll be passing through. May not know until the day before.

Midweek you can probably still get reservations now, but as you get closer, you may have to be more flexible or be willing to spend more for different accommodations. Mid September is when the leaves are starting to change and it's a popular time.
