End of September is the Rockies - more of a Mid October for the East Coast/Alleghenies,
Colorado - Fall in the Rockies - comes in late September.

For me personally - Being an East Coast Guy I've never seen anything to top the Rockies in Colorado. The Depth and Magnitude of Color is Amazing.
Best Color I've ever seen is in Upstate New York - Large and with the Mountains just Beautiful - Issue is the East coast is not nearly as Reliable as the Rockies.
