Fall Kids Activities

We are looking to take a weekend trip this weekend (October 3-5). We are in Ohio and looking for some place within a couple hours of us. We prefer state parks, but it doesn't have to be. One thing I am looking for is kids activities. Does anyone know of any place that is offering things like hay rides, crafts, etc? I see where East Harbor was having activities like that, but they seem to be booked. Any suggestions? Much appreciated!!
  • How about Bob Evans farm in Southern Obio. Need to check on a campground near there but this time of year would be great for the kids...of all ages.

  • Look to see if they're any yogi bear campgrounds close to you. They often have great fall programs including trick or treating. Actually some of the state parks by us have trick or treating on the weekends before Halloween as well.
  • Our kids loved to rake leaves in the fall (ya right) but they grew up and left. Do your kids like to rake leaves ?
  • We camp alot this time of year as the crowds are thinning. Down side of thinning crowds is programs do the same. So we have learned to bring along our own fun. Some examples are rain poncho's for hikes, kites, crafts and lettin the kids plan and cook their meals including clean up. Take the bikes, board games. Just have fun.
