Have never boondocked but may try it this winter. I know that boondockers don't like others to camp too close. What is considered too close? Thanks Nick
Jefe, I figure that if I have to gasp while sleeping, I am too high up. The only time this happened to me was when we were skiing and staying at Brian Head, Utah, where the base lodge is at around 9600 feet. I had a heck of a time carrying the suitcases up a flight of stairs when we arrived straight from our sea level home. But after acclimating, no problem. Not sure I could deal with camping at 12,000 feet, though.
