Favorite Arizona winter RV parks for 55+?

Would anyone like to share places that they have found that are under $800 mo that are 55+? We are new to this and are looking for recommendations for places with 50 amp electricity & a pool. We don't really need an activity director :-)

We want to avoid freezing pipes and snow... We are looking to stay from January through March with a month in each of 3 different areas. Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Head to Yuma and stay at Del Pueblo Tennis and Rv Resort. Look it up on the internet. Nice place and is privately owned and managed by great people. Has more than you can keep up with.
  • We spent Jan - Mar in 2013 at Voyager RV Resort in Tucson. It has lots of activities going on all the time. We met lots of nice people, it's a large resort. However, there's a smaller rv park Adventure Bound on Houghton road that's not so big but a good park. Voyager is about $675 plus elec. The Tucson area has so much to see & do but you can just enjoy the desert too!
  • Check out Yuma. Just to the east of town, called the Foothills, are perhaps 50 RV parks. We stayed at Shangri La, but there are many others just as nice with pools and 50 amp service.
  • We are headed to Desert Trails Nov 1st for the 6th winter. Great place with friendly owners & residents, lots of activities and you can hike right out of the park into Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Forest.

After a stop in Denver to see family we plan on being there in time for the park's Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Fiesta Grande in Casa Grande is our favorite. Under $800.00. Very convenient to everything in fact walking distance +- a mile to most. Lots of things to keep you busy.
  • $800 is a wish, not a requirement,if that makes a difference.
  • Maybe slightly higher but check Pueblo El Mirage a Roberts Resort in El Mirage, AZ. About 15 miles west of Phoenix. Beautiful resort with lots of activities and an 18 hole championship golf course on the property.
