I would go with one of the big 3 (Ocean Lakes, Lakewood and Pirateland). Lakewood is cool with the wristband thing, but you have to pay extra for them and you have to go daily to get your writband for the day. Never been to Piratelan, so will not comment on it except that some people seem to like it. Our favorite is Ocean Lakes. It's the biggest (and biggest on the east coast). Yes, there are lots of golf carts and if you go, you will see why. They have the pools, mini golf, and etc. They also have a lot of stuff at the activity center for the kids. My daughter enjoyed the little day camp thing they had daily. You do pay for it ($5 or $10 a day), but they do activities and meet other kids. Gives parents some of their own down time.
Unfortunately MBTP has the big requirement of minimum nights, whereas the others have only a 4 night requirement. Ocean Lakes also has the shortest time frame for that minimum amount of time and you can reserve specific sites. Their website is very helpful as telling you the size of the sites, if you can open up slides/awnings and any obstructions. They also tell you exactly how far from the beach you will be and how far from a bath house (if that's necessary).
