- CiderExplorerPhil's Fish Market in Moss Landing, across from the PG&E stacks. Parking is tough, but food is great and a good fresh fish market, too. Best copping around! Jardines, in San Juan Bautista is great Mexican food. Nice courtyard seating if weather is good. Used to live about 20 miles from the area so know the places well.
- LumptyExplorerIckity ick on most of the Cannery Row places. Some places we like:
Turn 12 Bar and Grill
Alvarado Street Brewery
Lallapalooza
All those are downtown.
A nice low-key place on Fremont Street is Monterey Cookhouse.
In Carmel, Baja Cantina.
Lastly, a nice Italian place in Pacific Grove: Alberto's.
We are in Monterey at least once a year, and have the good places figured out. - rollexxExplorerScales Seafood and Steak on Fisherman’s Wharf is very good. Also if you’re into Italian Little Napoli in Carmel is excellent.

- micpib1ExplorerBubba Gump, on Cannery Row and on the water has been one of our favorites. You can park in one of the Parking Structures and take the free trolly, they stop very near the front door. There are lots of shops in that vincitiy for shopping or people watching. We try to make Monterey one of our stops every year if possible. JH
- toedtoesExplorer IIIFor a nice dinner, the Sardine Factory. Great food and great atmosphere. The atrium is perfect on a clear night or lunchtime.
