What was your favorite RV trip that included 2-4 places to visit over a 2-3 week period? DH and I are kicking around several options on where we would like to go next for a 2-3 week RV trip. We live in Myrtle Beach, SC and are interested in your experiences. Thinking of staying east of the Mississippi River, mostly because we would like to save going "out West" for a longer RV trip. We've done most of our traveling so far along the East Coast, excluding New England, and we're open for just about any suggestions. We will travel in a 32' MH with toad. We're both retired so time of year doesn't much matter either. Thanks in advance for sharing.

I'd check out Bar Harbor, Maine or the Adirondack or Finger Lakes areas in NY

I don't think you could ever go wrong going up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway / Skyline Drive. :C

We have done the BLUERIDGE parkway twice now from one end to the other (VA to TN)... They are mostly geared for TENT CAMPING but have a lot of regular trailers in them... There is a camp ground roughly every 50 miles along the parkway. My OFF-ROAD POPUP setup always looks good there. I am wanting to do same thing all around of the Natl Forest camping areas south of Gatlingburg in the NC Areas...We enjoy the places we can get too in a day or maybe a two day trip. Just too expensive to do the cross country things for us... Beats us up big time and something always breaks down in the worse possible place... We go the Myrtle Beach area at LAKEWOOD every year for a quick few days family reunion. Enjoy that area really well. We have family that lives on LAKEWOOD... Then of course on the way back to Virginia we always go through the high country of NC and Smoky Mtns and on up I81 back to the home site in Northern Neck Virginia...Even Southwest parts Virginia has many real nice camping locations. Our next local state camping visit is going to include Douthat State Park which is a state park located in the Allegheny Mountains in Virginia. This one is nestled between two mountains on a very large lake... For some unknown reason we have never camped there and just recently been looking at camp ground photos of it... Its near MILLBORO, VA.We will leave all the long distance places to the RV TRAVELERS I reckon... We would just rather setup camp on a bubbling brook somewhere near closeby...Have never camped north of Virginia as well... I know there is bunch of our style of camping in close by northern MD and PA high country areas... Might even give CAMP DAVID a try one of these days... Understand the south portion is open to public camping...Roy Ken

Lubec, MA. Most eastern point in the US that you can drive to. Then follow US 1 down the coast. Arcadia National Park, and be sure to see the first sunrise in the US from the top of Cadillac Mountain. And don't miss the Great Desert of Maine a bit further south.

We did a 2-week drive to Nova Scotia and back, spending a few days in Bar Harbor. We lucked out - the colors were early, so we had fantastic scenery on our trip! The Breton Highlands of Nova Scotia are amazing!

Our first trip after retirement was wonderful. We drove the back roads from Washington to California and back. We broke down once, but we had a great time.

Acadia National Park and the coastline along there are my favorite place to vacation. If you have your paperwork in order, Canada is quite nice as well along that way. I am from wny, and we have spent a week every summer in either the Catskills or Adirondacks. High peaks/Lake Placid area or Lake George are popular and with good reason. We like it around Cranberry Lake and Old Forge areas also though.

One of our all-time favorite trips was actually a caravan (our only one!) to Churchill Manitoba to see the Polar Bears. It was a great tour (Fantasy) and very successful. Spent 3 days on the Tundra Bus and observed about 21 different bears!!

NY State - Wine Trails around the Finger Lakes for good wine and great food and the Adirondack Mountains - the High Peaks and the Lake Placid Olympic Venues. Many nice side-trips off I-81 and I-87.

An early fall trip into Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the Adirondacks in NY. All beautiful areas and with the colors changing it would be a grand trip.

drive up to central NY State... spend couple of nights in the Finger Lakes region (example, Watkins Glen State Park), then head over to Niagara Falls (example Four Mile Creek State Campground) for a couple of days - check out the Erie Canal tours also, then down into the Allegheny National forest. That part of New York is a pretty area that you might enjoy exploring for a couple of weeks.
