We've stayed at Gettysburg Campground twice and loved it. Highly recommend staying on the sites that face the stream because they're shady, quiet and it gives the kids something to do. The playground is nice, the bathrooms old but clean; plenty of hot water. The staff was fantastic.
We booked a day trip to Washington, D.C., and also had a great time. They pick up at the campground and bring you back after a dinner stop.
The campground is in a great spot to make a bunch of day trips. I'm a runner, so I drove a few miles away and ran with gorgeous views. My DH, DS and my dad drove to the battle sites and the whole family really enjoyed the nearby museums.
We had pizza delivered from Tommy's Pizza, which was yummy. We also ate at Gettysburg's Eddie Restaurant. Typical pub grub, good service. Food was fresh, good parking right out back.
We would definitely stay here again.
