feedback on Truckee River RV park

Hi there, would appreciate feedback from anyone who's stayed at the truckee river rv park near truckee CA. Seems nice enough, good rates, but I do notice it's right off interstate 80.

  • I stayed at this place years ago when it was part of the United Trails membership campground group; this was a time when they were in transition and accepting non-members for overnight/short stays. It's close to 7 miles east of Truckee at Hirschdale Rd., and, as 'Dicknellen' said, it's not on the river, but rather on a bluff well above it; you'd have to ask the park about access to the river, but it would not be very convenient. I recall that the access road is a little steep; this may or may not be an issue. (I don't recall road noise, but that doesn't bother me.)
  • I haven't been in the area for years, but this park "was" pretty nice. As posted earlier, Coachland in Truckee "was" a good place to stay, as was Boomtown in Verdi, Nv.
There is SO much to do in Truckee, you can be busy for a couple weeks.
  • I have looked at from I-80 going east and on Google, have not stayed there. If you want to be on the river you are not, it is across a road from the river and a lot higher. Dick
  • Haven't stayed at this park but like you said it looks nice. Options for RV Parks in Truckee aren't great. This one is about 5 miles east of Truckee the only other that I know of is Coachland RV Park right in town at I 80 and Hwy 89 about the same rates. Everything in Truckee is
"right on I 80" has something to do with the geography.

Truckee is a very expensive area so try to take everything with you that you need and plan on driving to Reno for gas, it's worth the trip.
But these are just my opinions based on spending a week there every July for the past 10 years.
