Fire Ants Kill Winter Texan in the RGV

Here is what to do if they bite you. Douse a rag of paper towel with household bleach and wipe the bite area down. It works. After a short time you could never tell they were there. I live in SW Florida and whenever I work in the yard I keep a jug of bleach and a towel handy. I have used it quite a few times.
