I'm not on your case about this. You are working within the rules you are given. If the rangers don't like it they can change the rules.
I am curious, though. Why did you do it this way, a day early? Was it because you might not get a site and wanted to give yourself an extra day to try again?
Yes that is exactly why. If you go without your trailer/RV and it takes 4 hours to get a site you cannot get back to the original site before check-out time. If you do take your trailer and don't get a site you are out of luck.
So the way the system works the only guarantee is to go a day early. that is what we were advised to do by the Park Rangers.
