First come Campgrounds in Yellowstone and Teton

About three weeks ago I asked for information about the first come campgrounds and how they worked in Yellowstone. I got several responses and none of them were really correct. The reason is the rules...

I'm guessing there is a fair number of Rv's parked near the entrance of the campground waiting to get in, is there room nearby (walking distance) to leave them?

I haven't been these parks so I don't know the physical layout.
