Yep. Here right now. Was that you in a group of four I met on the beach? Been here a week through some intense rain ( raining again as I write this ). First time here in summer. Normally come in fall or winter to avoid heat and humidity along with the mosquito Air Force. Compared to what it was is like night and day. Compared to what it was after the last hurricane is amazing. They run a slide show at the nature center showing the damage. Impressive what Mother Nature did to the place and what has been done so far.
There is water everywhere but too they have had tons of rain in the last two months. And being the low country not many places for it to go. Just when it's all soaked in, here comes another storm and it starts again. We could use a good drought!
We have a reservation back here in November but if the rains continue may divert to Myrtle Beach area. We will come back here as it has always been our favorite spot.
They actually took down two of four bath houses, and pending a final decision on what they will do with the now fallow camping area they may take those too. It's a work in progress.
