Glad you made it to FL.
This is our first real trip as well, but I approached it a little differently. We're not staying in any one place for more than a couple of weeks. We left the Cape in Oct 31st and took 3 weeks to get to FL. I would have left earlier except for Drs appointments etc. It was cold enough that the first 2 stops were overnight. We try to limit the legs to 250 miles.
We started in the Palm Beach area and are slowly working around the Gulf coast to the RGV, headed home in late April.
I imagine that we'll pick 2 or 3 places and stay longer at each place at some point, but right now we don't know where we want to snowbird. It's just one big adventure.
