Hi, i'm from that area in NJ, living in NC. When I saw your post, I thought "oh no, where are they going to stay!" I looked and the closest KOA is in Allentown. A good 1/2 hour, but highway travel. Then I looked up Spruce Run Recreation Area. That is the closest you can be. It is not full hook up. I haven't been there since I was a kid, (before my camping days) but I was pleasantly surprised when I looked it up on rvparkreviews. Perhaps you can check it out. Good luck.

Spruce Run is pretty nice... been there before and plan on visiting again in April. No hookups, but sites are pretty level. We have been there early in the season and all but had the place to ourselves before Memorial Day. Grocery stores and such within 15-20 drive. $25 per night for non resident. Reserve America to book.

I currently live pretty close to Flemington. It's a nice are, but not a campground type of place. I've never heard of the Mountianview cg. Not that I know every campground in the state, but I would have thought I'd heard about it living so close. If you consider that cg, don't be tempted to take 579 to Flemington. There are two killer hills with stop signs at the bottom that I wouldn't want to take a MH down.
There is a cg on rt173 off of exti 11 of rt78 called Jugtown Mt cg. It doesn't get real good reviews, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Your best bet is Spruce Run. It is right off of rt31, which you will probably take into Flemington anyway. It is not full hookup, but does have water and a dump station. Being on a reservoir it is pretty nice. Just don't bring adult beverages, they're not allowed. I'd say it is about 20. Minutes from where you have to go. The Allentown KOA is probably more like an hour away.

Camp Carr, opearted by the Hunterdon County YMCA, has a campground. It is off Rt. 31 between Clinton and Flemington. Not sure if it is still open or if the sites are full hookups but it would be worth giving a call. Probably 5-6 miles to Flemington. Here's the address and phone number:
