X2 - just left there a couple of weeks ago. It is not far to go to the Gulf Coast from there. Gainsville was also a pleasant surprise. They have a nice paved bike trail if that is your thing.

If you are looking for beach access parks then you won't find many once you leave the panhandle and turn down into the peninsula. On the Gulf coast anyway. No white sand beaches until you get close to the Tampa Bay area.
