Florida Ocean campground

Camp Gulf in Destin is right on the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. We go there in the fall each year and love it. It is expensive but it is the only park directly on the beach that I am aware of. Most of the others mentioned are on the Atlantic side. We love Cedar Key but there are no real beaches and very little for kids to do.

Near enough to Orlando on the Atlantic side you can go to Outdoor Resorts Melbourne Beach or North Beach Campground north of St-Augustine Beach - both have a pool(s) and are across the street from the beach.

On the Gulf side, the only one I know is RedCoconut that's already been mentioned but there's no pool and while a lot of people like it, it's really packed tight there and quite expensive so I wouldn't go.

I believe there are some in the Panhandle but offhand I don't know which ones. When are you planning your trip (I would only go to the Panhandle from May-Oct otherwise I think the water is too cold for my taste)

We stay at Camp Gulf in Destin. It is the only true beachfront campground I know of and, yes, it is expensive. It is family oriented and there are activities for children and adults, depending on the season. We will be spending 2 weeks in mid-October and can hardly wait! You won't find more beautiful beaches than Alabama and the Florida panhandle.

We just got home from a week at Bryn Mawr RV Resort in St. Augustine. It has several spaces on the beach but make sure you reserve to make sure you get an ocean spot CONFIRMED. 40 miles north of Daytona, St. Augustine has a lot to offer in the form of site seeing particularly. Bryn Mawr has a security gate at the entrance. They also have security gates leading from the resort to the beach. The gates give free access from resort to beach but you must punch in a code to get back IN from the beach. Very secure place. Only shortcoming is sites are a little tight and the streets are dirt/sand surfaced. We'd go back in a heartbeat because there's so much to do in the area. Good restaurants too.

Jettty park an hour drive from O town on the beach and a 20 minute drive to the space center

Turtle Beach campground is actually on Turtle Beach. Located on Siesta Key, just south of Sarasota. RV Park Reviews lists it under 'Sarasota'.

Topsail is NOT a beachfront campground. Yes it has a beach but it is a long way from the campground. Beautiful campground,used to be a resort and still acts like one. Can you tell I was not impressed!

Some of ones SDaniel listed we've driven past but didn't stay but we have stayed at Bryn Mayr @ St. Augustine Beach. It's on the beach but tight roadways and lots of park models.
On the Gulf side is a park, now "Turtle Beach" @ Fiesta Key, just S. of Sarasota that's nice and on the beach, very tight though and by all means have a reservation.
The panhandle has only Camping on the Gulf @ SanDestin. Fairly nice but tight and the few "beachfront" sites are $$$ w/o fhu. Think Topsail Hill or Henderson Beach (no pool) but have a reservation.
