Florida panhandle in march

We're further south in FL right now but I'm thinking about moving up to a park in the panhandle for March. Would it be comfortable (70's maybe) by March up there or should I stay down here?

Check on Weather Base. It shows the average temps over a period of years. Here is a link: Weather Base

    Hope this helps.
  • In my experience I find it quite cold in March. Don't get me wrong I'll be there in march in fact I might even go swimming but there will be some very cold days for sure
  • Be aware that is spring break. But it should be nice and warm except for swimming.
  • March is one of the most difficult months to call in the south. In the Florida Panhandle it can be the beginning of Spring for North America and may be lovely. On the other hand, we have had some really dreadful cold and wind during March. Be prepared to expect both. There will probably be days warm enough for swimming but water temperatures will not be ready yet (unless you are a polar bear). Most of the springs are a constant 70 degrees, so warm day temps can make spring water feel good. Whatever the weather it will be a different experience for you. Enjoy! lizzie

    averages for Freeport, FL
March averages High 72, low 47. Extremes: Record Low: 19; Record High: 90.
  • I've lived in Central Florida for the last 16 years. Based on that I can tell you that the temps at the beginning of March will be a lot different then the temps at the end, so it depends a lot on when you'll be up there. I've had my AC running by Easter just about every year where I live. I suspect you'll be fine after about the first week.

  • Thanks for the replies. We just got to Rock Crusher Canyon yesterday and really like it and the area so far. We may just stay here for March as well.
