Whenever I visited friends in Florida I stayed at Lake Deaton RV Park. It's located between Leesburg and Wildwood (maybe not far enough south for you). There are other RV parks nearby which may be more to your liking. The park itself is nice, but not sure if you'd consider it "upscale". There are amenities nearby in Leesburg, such as Walmart and various eating places.
Lakeland is south of the imaginary I-4 freeze line. Sanlan RV Park is very nice although a bit pricey, IMO. Not sure what you mean by upscale. We stayed for 2 weeks last January and were able to find a site with no neighbors on either side. Site 323.
Over the years we have stayed at the above 3 mentioned c.g.'s. - Blueberry Hill, Williston Crossing and Rock Crusher Canyon. We liked all three and have been back a couple of times. Having said that, we find they are a little far north to have good weather for the entire winter. If you want to have warm days in January you really need to be further south. Something to keep in mind.
We like Blueberry Hill in Bushnell but don't know what larger lots means. Their grass lots are wide enough to park your TV next to the RV and still be able to open the awning. They also have concrete sites which are not quite as large but oriented on and angle so the next camper is not right in view.
Have you reviewed the many RV parks listed on the GoodSam website? If not, go to https://www.goodsam.com/campgrounds-rv-parks/snowbird/, select Florida. Many great resorts listed..
Better hurry. Most of the really good spaces probably are already reserved. You might have to adjust your space requirements.....or set your target a bit farther north......or both.
