Food in Gettysburg

Going to Gettysburg, Pa next week. Any suggestions on where to get a good burger and a beer? Have checked numerous reviews but would appreciate other campers' experiences. Last time we were there we found the Plaza Bar and Grill on the corner of Lincoln Square. Nothing special at all, but liked the local nature of it and the beer was always cold. Read that it's closed. Anyplace else we can NOT feel totally like tourists when we enter? Thanks.
  • Greatly appreciate all the recommendations. Found the Blue & Grey Pub to be exactly what we like! Good food, great people. Same for Garryowen Bar and Pub. What an Irish bar should be! Took a side trip to Emmitsburg Md, (my Mom was born and raised there!) and found The Ott House, right on the corner by the blinking light. AWESOME local bar! Can't say enough great things about it! Thanks again for all the help.
  • Is the Fairfield Inn still running? They used to be pretty good years back. Very historic like Cashtown. I love Cashtown Inn. Haven't been there for a few years.
  • little hole in the wall place Hunts Battlefield fries awesome food

X2. This place is great as well.
  • Gettysburg fanatic here. Go there many times a year.

Garyowen Irish Pub is really good. Hit this place frequently.

Pub & Restaraunt is also pretty good. Good burgers is what I get.

Pricy but good and a great old building is the a Dobbin House Tavern.

Now for a special night, Try the Cashtown Inn located in Cashtown , Pa. 15 minute ride of Gettysburg. This Place is very old, was the location of the confederate troops prior to the battle and makes almost everyone's top ghost tour. But I haven't seen any.

    Hope you enjoy Gettysburg.

very limited seating like 4 or five tables not sure if they sell beer but the burger and steak sandwiches are great and the fries are fresh cut
  • Not impressed with the Blue&Gray. The "Pub and Restaurant" in Lincoln Square was far better. The other place I'd recommend is the Garryowen Irish Pub, especially if beer is a priority. It's a bit off the beaten path and is small so plan accordingly but one of my favorite places in Gettysburg.
  • Was in Gettysburg last fall for a couple days. Did the 3 hour, which turned out to be 4 hours, bicycle tour. Had a great time. Afterwards we went to the "Blue & Gray Bar & Grill at 2 Baltimore St, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Excellent Burger and did not leave hungry, prices were not bad. We stayed at Artillery Ridge Campground.
