Forest Service Campgrounds with electricity

We love Forest Service Campgrounds, it is an extra bonus when we can find one with electricity. Does anyone have any they could recommend? Thanks so much.

  • We're headed to one north of West Yellowstone next week.....called Rainbow Point.......:) :)
  • Coleman Lake campground in the Talladega National Forest has 20/30 and 50 amp service with water at every campsite. All sites sre also paved with new bath houses. Great deal at $16 a night.

It's a big country... care to narrow it down? Baker's Hole one of my favorite plus Taylor Park.
  • Croatian National Forest mid-way down the N.C. Coast has electricity at every site in the Cedar Point Campground. It's on the mainland coast about a five minute drive to the Rt. 58 bridge to Emerald Isle and coastal beaches. Great kayaking area on Bogue Sound, walkway through the tidal marsh.
  • Bakers Hole in West Yellowstone. First-come, first-served only; some sites with electricity.

Also, there are a few NFS CGs in the Island Park, Idaho area (near West Yellowstone) with electric sites. Reservations accepted for some of them.

Much farther east, some COE CGs in Iowa and Illinois have electricity at some of their sites, and accept reservations. The ones I'm thinking of are in/near Coralville IA and western Illinois (Thomson, etc., along the Mississippi.)
  • I've never seen a forest service cg with electricity -- but that would be great -- it would cut down on the generator noise! And all those darn shade trees tend to impair my solar panel. ;)
