Fort Clinch State Park

I'm thinking of going to Fort Clinch State Park in April next year. I have a 34' hitch to bumper travel trailer. I understand they have 2 campgrounds, one out in the open and the other in the woods. Would I be able to get my camper on a site in either of the campgrounds? I usually prefer shaded sites with more privacy. Thanks.

  • We've stayed Riverside and Beachside in a 34' class A. Some of the sites can be tight but if Reserve America says you'll fit, you'll fit. Your tow vehicle may have to squish in... Some sites are oddly configured so look at the pics at any site you are considering.

Oh, at Riverside in Fort Clinch, I wouldn't try the 32' site booking unless you really want to wedge yourself in there. The whole campground is like being in a jungle and there really aren't rear overhang areas in many sites.
  • We have stayed in many Florida State Parks, though we have not yet stayed at Fort Clinch. I hear it is nice and we hope to stay there sometime. You will find a max length for each site on reserve America. I have yet to see a Florida State park site that will not be manageable for a rig of that max size, though I have seen many sites that would be managable for a larger rig than stated, so in general I'd say they are pretty conservative with their stated max length. Comfortably book any site that is rated for 34 feet (and know likely you would manage a site rated for 32 feet).
  • The beach sites would easily accommodate your rig, but as said, the river side sites vary quite a bit. None are exceptionally private, but some are better than others. We like the beach loop for the view of the ocean. Next January we'll be parked backwards on site #10 so we can see the ocean out our front window and the beach boardwalk will be just one site over.
  • you want the Riverside if you want shaded area..
beach side is all sun( no trees at all )
Lot size on reserve america site..
  • Probably at the beach cg, not sure about the one in the woods. Reserve America will show rig lengths
