Foscue Creek COE Alabama

Has anyone here been to this campground

Would like to hear some pros and cons.

We are thinking of staying here a few days in May this year on the way to North Carolina.
  • Very nice park. We stayed there last year on our way south, without a reservation and lucked into a vacancy for the night. Park was very clean and convenient to our route. Would go there again for sure.

Haven't stayed there, (yet), but I know it's one of the few COE CG's with full hookups, i've never heard anything Bad about it.
  • I stayed there in fall of 2014 and found it very nice--long cement back-ins, water & electric, good Verizon. A few OTA channels. Friendly hosts whom I met again here in AZ this winter!
  • OP here.

Thank you so much for your replies to my question looks like I need to book this one.

Certainly is located in a pretty spot West of Montgomery AL on US80... Have never stayed there but where the couple of rivers come together makes for a great outdoor camping experience...

  • A few years ago we spent a very enjoyable few days at Foscue Creek. We took some pix and wrote up a little review of our stay.

  • I hosted at this park January-March 2015. The previous post about sites 49-52 is correct. The boats mentioned are tug boats with barges. You can actually see the dam just downstream from these sites as well. The "dam" is a spillway type meaning that water flows over it all the time.

All sites in this park are full hookup except sites 11-15. These 5 sites do not have sewer hookup due to their location. They are too close to water level and can flood during periods of high river levels. All sites have concrete pads, 50amp, picnic table on gravel, and fire ring. This is one of the cleanest and well maintained parks I have seen.
  • One of the best. Full hookup. Lots of room. Walmart close by. I think this is site 49 and 50. #51 and #52 are also close to the water. About 5 to 10 boats a day. Make reservations early for these choice sites. Other sites may not need reservations.
