Also near Portland, more to the east a short distance is a Wal Mart near the Fairview Camping World, both normally have a few RVs parked there nightly - it is I 84, exit #16, 238th Drive. So it would be 16 miles east of downtown Portland. The parking lot is about 1/4 mile north of the freeway, and normally you can not hear the traffic going by on the interstate, so it is fairly quiet. From Exit #16, take 238th drive north to Sandy Blvd, then left to Wal Mart or Right to Camping World. You will have buildings between the freeway and parking lot, so not nearly as much noise. It is about 8 miles east of I 205, the easier way to go north past Portland. I 5 can be very conjested at the Columbia river bridge, crossing into Washington.
The Camping world noted above for Portland is along I5, and closer to downtown Portland, and subject to much more morning traffic. This parking lot can be seen from I5, and probably has significant truck noise all night long.
Good luck!
Fred.
